Al Baleed Resort Salalah by Anantara .
The resort, located besides the
Archaeological site of Al Baleed and at the shore of Indian Ocean, is the latest addition on the list of finest resorts in the Western city of Oman.

Shaped by hands on the white sand specifically for both of us, the private dinning setup made our evening unforgettable.

Radiant candle lights and TIKI torches were placed on the walkway and around the dining area elegantly. This added a glow to the quixotic and romantic feast. We left the marks of our barefoot on the passage made on sand around the TIKI tourches and candle lights. It was indeed “A Walk to Remember”.
The seating area was truly a dreamy and impressive arrangement. Red and white combination reflected a romantic theme that was noticeable even from a distance.
While sitting, we captured a beautiful sunset and saw one by one the last rays of the day’s sunshine disappear into the horizon.
Delicious Food
At the time of reservation, we were provided with options to choose from a collection of 3 connoisseur menus –
Culinary Safari ,
a Thai Journey and
The Mediterranean Experience. Since this is a personalized dining set up, there is an opportunity to fine tune one of the connoisseur menus or a completely new menu can be created. We chose Culinary Safari, which is a medley of grilled items.
Culinary Safari menu
It started with a welcome drink (in our case it was non-alcoholic on our request). The butler served us mocktail containing pineapple and orange juice with passion fruit and spicy sugar syrup.
Cold mezzeh of Tabbouleh, Hummus, Mutable, Mixed Olives, homemade Arabic bread and cheese bites were served as cold appetizer.
Followed by cold mezzeh, warm appetizer of marinated grilled prawns was served with 3 different sauces.
Main course of mixed grills of beef, chicken, lamb, calamari and hammour was served under the stars by the personal butler.
French Fries were also served with the main course.
We ate this delicious meal while keeping our barefoot on the sand accompanied by the sounds of the ocean. Dessert and fruits were served at the end.
Other than this dining by design, Al Baleed Resort has 3 main restaurants that serves delicious cuisine.
Mekong serves Specialty Asian cuisines while
Al Mina serves Mediterranean food by the pool. International food is served at
Sakalan .
