Salalah Water Park is Oman’s first water theme park, currently under construction near the Salalah Festival area (close to the new Salalah Airport). This exciting development brings great news for visitors and residents of Oman, especially those in Salalah.
According to the Oman Observer, Sayyid Mohammed bin Sultan al Busaidy, Minister of State and Governor of Dhofar, signed the agreement on 15th Nov 2014 for the construction of Salalah Water Park. The total cost of the project is OMR 2.6 million.
As reported by the Ministry of Information, the park will cover 35,000 square meters and can hold up to 500 visitors daily. It will feature a wide range of water attractions so families and friends can enjoy a full day of fun and excitement.
The park will include a water house pool, wave pool, kids’ pool, lazy river, and a spa pool. The water house pool and kids’ pool together cover 1,975 square meters and lie in the east of the park, surrounded by a 330-meter long lazy river. The wave pool, located in the middle, will span 3,246 square meters and be the largest pool in the park. The spa pool, covering 1,240 square meters, will be located in the north-west. Visitors can also enjoy race slides, high-speed slides, variable high-speed slides, combination slides, space bowl slides, boomerang slides, and water house slides.
China Railway is developing the Salalah Water Park.
We all hope the construction of Salalah Water Park is completed soon so we can enjoy the water house pool, wave pool, lazy river, and many other exciting attractions in Salalah.
