Shaat Hidden Beach is a pristine beach on the Western side of Salalah. It is a secret beach and most probably the smallest beach in Oman.

The Smallest Beach with Turquoise Water

Shaat Hidden Beach length is only 77 meters (approximately 250 feet). This makes it most probably the smallest beach in Oman, yet a beautiful one. Shaat Hidden Beach is at 2 hours drive from Salalah.

The landscape is stunning, with multi color water at the sea, sand, pebbles on the shore, and mountains around the small beach.

A Hidden Beach after Fazayah Beaches

The West side of Salalah is particularly famous for the beaches, This region has one of the best beaches in the world. Some of the famous beaches on the western side are Mughsail Beach, Fazayah Beach, Masood Hidden Beach, and Dalkut Beach. This secret beach is located after the pristine Fazayah Beach.

Only 4×4 Vehicle Can Go to Shaat Secret Beach

The only vehicle that can go to the hidden beach of Shaat is a Jeep (also called 4×4 or 4WD). Saloon and other sedan cars cannot go there due to off-road.

Thrilling Drive to Shaat Beach

The road from Salalah City to Shaat View Point is proper asphalt road. The 10 kilometer long drive from the view point to the hidden beach is off-road.

The drive is especially difficult in khareef season, when there is lots of fog and the visibility is low. Also, the mist makes the off-road quite slippery.

During the other months of the year, the drive is still challenging, as you may be alone in the place. This has both pros and cons. You can have beach all to yourself or you may need some help in case of car breakup. The mobile phone coverage will not be there as well.

Whether it’s khareef season or any part of the year, we would suggest you go to this place with a group or with a guide.
